What to Expect
In this detailed course, you’ll see how I painted all the individual items (glass, leather books, ferns, orchid, apples, clay pot, basket, ceramic pot, paperwhite and window frame). As I paint each item, we’ll look at ways to intensify the color and to introduce more luscious colors into the painting. This process will leave you with lots of ideas on how to generate a more colorful and beautiful painting of your own.
The course starts with a brief talk about composition and I share 2 of my favorite still life artists ~ both of them experts in the use of color. I’ll then show you how I got in the drawing, using lots of color, right from the get-go. Then we’ll move through each item in the painting.
I want you to learn from my mistakes ~ so I don’t edit them out! When something isn’t working, I’ll show you my process to find a solution. Throughout this painting, I’ll share thoughts on color choices, why using this is better than that, how to bump up colors when they seem dull and how to bring luscious color into any type of painting.
