Wow, has it been 10 years already? It seems like yesterday that this burning desire to paint exploded in my heart ~ catapulting me into the world of painting. From a beginning full of struggle and childish paintings, to having some shows and sales to now having a YouTube painting channel and courses available on my website! Who would believe it? Only God could birth something from such SCRATCH and get it to this place.
And now the NEXT ADVENTURE is around the corner. I have always been completely against any thoughts of painting Plein Air ~ painting outside, from life. Painting where strangers can walk up and watch your painting process. Leaving the comfort of air-conditioning and heat, of bathrooms close-by (I’ll admit that’s a real concern) and let’s not forget the possible wild animals. Then there’s the gear that’s necessary and hiking out into the unknown, searching for that perfect view (I’ll probably end up “hiking” 5 minutes from my car!)
I know I sound overly dramatic, but I FEEL overly dramatic when it comes to this. I had firmly resolved to ALWAYS, ALWAYS be a studio painter, safe in the obscurity and comfort of my own studio ~ but alas, I feel God now challenging me to get out of my comfort zone ONCE AGAIN!
